Steelers third string quarterback Dennis Dixon has been picked by Coach Mike Tomlin as the starter for opening day Sunday against the Falcons on WESB.
Tomlin picked Dixon over Charlie Batch saying that Dennis had a strong preseason and deserves the chance to start Sunday.
Starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is serving a four game supension to start the season and second stringer Byron Leftwich is out indefinitely with a sprained knee. September 07, 2010 05:09 Steelers Tuesday Update
The Steelers named their 2010 captains Monday and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger isn't one of the player picks.
Also, kicker Jeff Reed, who has had some off the field problems too, is no longer a team captain.
The 2010 Steeler captains are wide receiver Hines Ward, linebacker James Farrior, tight end Heath Schuler, and special teams player Keyaron Fox. September 07, 2010 05:09 Tuesday's Bills Update
The Bills haves signed fullback Corey McIntyre to a two year, $1.8 million dollar extension.
McIntyre is entering his third season with the Bills.
McIntyre also plays special teams and gives the Bills what Coach Chan Gailey likes, a hard nosed tough player.
Three Bills missed practice Monday, including both starting cornerbacks Leodis McKelvin and Terrence McGee.
Bills Coach Chan Gailey says McGee and McKelvin both have minor injuries.

A.J. Burnett took the loss allowing four runs on seven hits with four walks.
Al-Rod hit a solo home run for the Pinstripes who are 2 ½ games in front of the Rays.
The Mets were pounded by the Nationals 13-3.
Josh Thole had two RBI for the Mets.
Mike Pelfry was rocked for six runs and five hits with three walks in three plus innings.
